The file in this zip archive is the executable (MS-DOS) files for the program
STELPUMP, developed by Johan Coetzee and Ralph Pina at the University of
Stellenbosch in South Africa. STELPUMP is a program which administers drugs
via an infusion pump based on pharmacokinetic models. STELPUMP contains a
library of pharmacokinetics for many of the drugs used in anesthesia.
STELPUMP can also be used for animal experimentation and simulations.

When STELPUMP is connected to an infusion pump, and actually administering
drug, it becomes a medical device. As such, the use of STELPUMP to
administer drugs is strictly experimental. Such use should only occur with
approval and guidance of an institutional review board (human subjects) or
animal review board (animal protocols), according to the institutional policy.

This latest version of STELPUMP, updated February 26, 1997, has better graphic
routines. It now needs 2 MB of RAM to run, and requires that the files RTM.EXE
and DBMI16BI.OVL be in the same directory as STELPUMP.EXE. The manual documents
all changes, including cable connections for various pumps.
